The history of our countries is basically useless fiction, written by orders of higher authorities, when facts and events are deliberately distorted. One of the most effective ways to manage people is to substitute their stories, to destroy real heroes and the deeds they accomplished in their memory, because the less people have moral ideals before their eyes, the sooner they will “bend over”.
You can try to find a true story in archaeological excavations, encrypted and secretly protected by government documents for years, as well as memoirs and memoirs of those people who directly participated in a particular event. Therefore, we won’t take the word for facts and figures - the main thing is to see the “grain” of the historical formation of the Russian nationality, and it is manifested in the fact that heroes were saved in the nation by strong spirit and will, selfless and devoted to their homeland to the very end.
Today, with honor and reverence, we recall 10 heroic deeds performed by our soldiers during the First World War.
10. Kuzma Kryuchkov
The brave Russian Cossacks were hiding in an ambush, and then a detachment of Germans headed for them. The brave people waited until the enemy came at a distance of a rifle salvo, and opened fire. The enemy soldiers decided to retreat, but Kuzma Kryuchkov did not let them just hide - he jumped on a horse, caught up with the Germans and began to actively use a sword in the crowd. Unfortunately, due to a wound in his hand, he could not open fire on the enemy, so he continued to chop with selected peaks and a saber. In this battle, Kryuchkov wounded and killed the 24th Germans, including officers, while he himself received 16 wounds. Even the horse of Kuzma was not too good - more than a dozen injuries were counted on the body. After the heroic battle of the brave Cossack, the first in Russia was awarded the St. George Cross.
9. Russians do not give up
This saying remains to be heard even by modern Russians, only if we are ready for the same feat that the small detachment of the commander of the rifle regiment Varaksin made. When in 1916 the soldiers were surrounded in the village of Linevka, they settled in the trenches, preparing for the defense, despite the fact that the enemy was significantly superior in strength. The famous phrase "Russians do not give up!" sounded in response to the offer of the enemy to surrender. The detachment fought back to the last bullet, and then lieutenant Varaksin himself with a bayonet prevented the Germans from entering the trench. Unfortunately, the defenders of the people fell after heavy fire, losing the trench to the enemy. But the courage of the Russians was so angry with the enemies that they lifted up on bayonets the already lifeless body of their commander.
8. Feat of the sailor
The Russians have proven their skills both on land and in the water. The sailor Pyotr Semenishchev, a simple modest peasant, was drafted into the army from the beginning of the war. The guy served as a sailor and electrician on the Baltic ships. In the winter of 1914, his group was tasked with clearing the fairway on the Vistula. In the process of doing the work, the mine flew out of the mount and began to move with the flow, which increased the risk of a ship explosion. The brave sailor jumped into the cold water and began towing a mine to land, for which he subsequently received the George Cross. By the way, Semenishchev continued to show himself as a real hero. In one hand-to-hand combat, he forced eight Austrian soldiers to flee, while he himself was wounded 11 times.
7. Taran Nesterova
Pyotr Nesterov, a Russian officer, rammed an Austrian plane in the fall of 1914. As a result, both aircraft crashed, the pilots died, also “taking” with them the life of the enemy baron Rosenthal. Recall that at that time machine guns were not yet installed on planes, so, unfortunately, the only method of eliminating the enemy machine was direct ramming.
6. Carried out the body of the commander
In the spring of 1916, Private Kryuchka participated in a bloody battle with the Germans in the village of Klipy. By the number of forces, the Russians were losing ground, which led to the death of the captain in the battle, whose body was left lying between the belligerents. Under a barrage of crossfire, the brave private soldier reached the commander's body and returned him to his position. Thus, he prevented the abuse of the body by the enemy and helped to bury the officer with all due honors. It turns out that you can risk your life not only for the sake of the living, but also in the name of memory of worthy and courageous people.
5. The feat of the treasurer
Non-war people are also capable of feats and self-sacrifice, as proved by the city treasurer of Sokolov. The town of Kalisz was occupied by enemy troops of the Germans and Prussian Lancers. The authorities and local officials managed to leave him, leaving defenseless residents to experience the hardships of military life in the occupation. Before the enemy entered the city, Sokolov destroyed all treasury tickets, for which he was shot in August 2014.
4. Attack of the dead
Not far from Bialystok, German troops stubbornly besieged the fortress of Osowiec, which twice did not succumb to the assault. And in July 1915 the enemy decided on another third assault, which again failed - the brave Russian garrison held the defense perfectly. And then next month the Germans distributed poisonous gas of such volume to the positions of our military that was supposed to destroy all the defenders cleanly. What was the surprise of the enemy when, in response to the assault, 60 barely alive, coughing up blood soldiers, who rewound their heads with a rag, went to them. Submitting to the courage and fortitude of the Russians, the Germans retreated without taking the fortress. True, after 2 weeks, the soldiers were forced to leave the area themselves, since it had lost strategic importance.
3. Sister of mercy
We add to the list of brave people and a woman - a real sister of mercy Rimma Ivanova, who received the Order of St. George. The girl came to the front from the very beginning and in the battle took the wounded colonel from the field. Over the entire period, the fragile girl rescued from the field about six hundred officers and ordinary soldiers. In the fall of 1915, the regiment fought with the enemy. In an unequal confrontation, 2 commanders died, which led to a fall in the team spirit of the soldiers and the subsequent retreat. The bold Rimma independently organized the soldiers and motivated them to attack, which allowed them to recapture the positions occupied by the enemy. From the mortal wounds received, the girl died in the arms of the soldiers, saying the last time: "God save Russia."
2. Brusilovsky breakthrough
In the spring and summer of 1916, a competent offensive operation was conducted under the leadership of the commander Brusilov. He understood that the enemy’s defense was well-fortified, but still decided to attack, using tactics of simultaneous attacks. Puzzled Germans only wondered which one was the main one. Thus, Brusilov’s army managed to break through the defense in 4 places, capturing about 100 thousand enemy soldiers in just 3 days. During the summer, the offensive continued, which allowed us to conquer the vast territory to the Carpathians at the cost of the loss of half a million of our soldiers. But the losses of the enemy were 3 times greater.
1. Russian soldier
In the winter of 1915, Kolya Popov was voluntarily enrolled in the Petrovsky Regiment, showing special intelligence skills and knowledge of different languages. He and his companion were ordered to sneak into the German trenches and obtain a "tongue." During the operation, a comrade was killed, and Popov independently executed the order, for which he was awarded the George Cross. It would seem that the usual military feat, of which there were many over this period. It was only later revealed that Kolya's scout was a girl of Kira Bashkirova, who voluntarily ran away from home to the front.
Are modern men and women ready to stand up for Mother Russia with the same breadth of soul? Our Stars, heroes and teachers should not be forgotten for centuries, because only thanks to their courage and resourcefulness we still live in peace in our native land.
